Bridgerton season 4 update: Makers to release next season by 2026

Showrunner of the popular show Jess Brownell had given a major update on season four during the U.K. premiere for part two.

Speaking to THR, Brownell gave the update for Bridgerton season 4 status, release window and the storyline.

When Are Makers Planning To Release Season 4?

Spilling the beans on Season 4, Brownell shared that the writing of the show is almost doneand called it "some of her best work".

“I’m really excited about what we’re writing. We’re towards the end with the writers room season, with the scripts. And I feel like it’s some of my best work and my writers room’s best work. We’ve just really gelled our collaboration, and we’re firing on all cylinders so I can’t wait for fans to see what we have.”

Sharing that fans have to wait for almost 2 years, she wrote, “We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly, but they do take eight months to film and then they have to be edited, and then they have to be dubbed into every language."

“And the writing takes a very long time as well, so we’re kind of on a two-year pace, we’re trying to speed up but somewhere in that range," she further said.

In a different interview with Reuters, Brownell shared,"We want to give a few months for Pen and Colin to have their moment and enjoy their glory," said Brownell and added,"We will be making an announcement about the next season sooner rather than later."

Who Will Take the Lead in Season 4?

Without giving any hint of who will take the lead, she quipped, “I have almost slipped up a couple of times so keep asking, and maybe I’ll slip up.”

Speaking to Reuters about the same, she shared that season 4 is going to be jucier.

"I can tell you that it is going to be extremely juicy," Brownell told Reuters.

"I think as a writer you sharpen your skills every season. And as a showrunner, I feel like I learned on the job a lot this season, but now I'm really just enjoying myself and playing around and having a good time," she added.
