Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha's daughter and actor Sonakshi Sinha is set to tie the knot with actor Zaheer Iqbal on Sunday (June 23). Celebrations have begun in Sinha and Iqbal households, and the first glimpse of their family get-together is out.
Ever since Sonakshi and Zaheer's wedding invitation went viral, confirming the couple's nuptials, a lot of rumours about a rift between Sonakshi and her family made headlines, suggesting that her father Shatrughan, mother Poonam Sinha and brothers were not happy with the marriage and would presumably skip the ceremony. However, on Thursday night, all the rumours were debunked when the two families came together before the wedding festivities began.
Sinhas and Iqbals KickOff Wedding Festivities
On Thursday night, Shartrughan Sinha was papped with her future son-in-law Zaheer Iqbal. The veteran actor posed happily with Zaheer as he made his first public appearance with him outside his residence in Mumbai.
A few hours later, a family picture from the dinner went viral. The group selfie taken by Sonakshi showed the actress's mother, Poonam, and father, Shatrughan Sinha, along with other family members. The photo was reposted by celebrity stylist Sanam Ratansi.
Shatrughan Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal's First Appearance
Shutting downtrolls, Shatrughan Sinha was snapped with groom-to-be Zaheer Iqbal on Thursday (June 20). In the clips that have gone viral, the veteran star was seen hugging his future son-in-law.
The public appearance comes hours after the actor debunked allrumoursand confirmed that he will attend his daughter's wedding.
Denying the rumours in an interview with Zoom, he said, “I will be there at the wedding, certainly. Why shouldn’t I and why won’t I?” He emphasised, “Sonakshi and Zaheer have to live life together. They look very nice together.”

He added, “It’s just the life of my only daughter Sonakshi, whom I am very proud of and immensely fond of. She calls me the pillar of her strength. The very fact that I have still been in Mumbai conveys that I am here not only as her pillar of strength but as her real kavach (armour) as well. Her happiness is my happiness and vice versa. She has every right to choose her partner and the other details of her wedding.''
Sonakshi and Zaheer's Relationship
After dating for seven years, Sonakshi and Zaheer are set to embark on a new chapter of their life. The couple will have a court wedding on June 23, followed by an intimate reception at Bastian in Mumbai.
