On Thursday (May 30), superstar Rajinikanth set out on apilgrimage from Dehradun. As part of his holy journey, the actor will visit Kedarnath and Badrinath temples, two of the most sacred religious sites in India and part of the Char Dham yatra.
In the wee hours of Thursday, the actor left Chennai for Dehradun, the northern city of Uttarakhand. The actor was spotted at Dehradun Airport, where he talked about his spiritual trip.
"Every year I used to get new experience that made me continue my spiritual journey again and again. I believe even this time, (I) will get new experiences," he told to news agency ANI.

While setting out on his religious quest, the veteran star shared that the world needs spirituality. “The whole world needs spirituality, as it's important for every human being. Being spiritual means experiencing peace and tranquility, and fundamentally, it involves believing in God,” he said.
Guarded by heavy security, Rajinikanth was dressed casually.
The actor makes sure to visit the two sacred sites every year.
The spiritual journey of the Char Dham Yatra commenced on May 10, with the opening of four revered shrines of Hindu religion, including Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath.
Rajinikanth recently returned from his short trip to Dubai. The actor was granted a golden visa by the UAE. The renowned actor, well-known for his work in the South Indian film industry, received the prestigious visa on May 23.

As part of his UAE trip, the actor visited the newly opened BAPS Hindu temple.

Rajinikanth has wrapped up filmingfor his upcoming film Vettaiyan. Written and directed by TJ Gnanavel, the movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier and Dushara Vijayan among others.
The movie is now in it's post -production with the release date set for October this year. Meanwhile, the actor will kick-off the shoot of his next project titled Coolie soon. The movie is directed by Lokesh Kanagrajas.
