Kartik Aaryan undergoes drastic transformation for Chandu Champion

Kartik Aryan looks almost unrecognisable as a boxer in the new poster of Chandu Champion. The poster seems to be giving a nod to Sylvester Stallone's Rocky and shows the Bollywood star in boxing gloves, a mouth guard, inside the boxing ring. Chandu Champion has been helmed by Kabir Khan and will present Aaryan in a never-seen-before avatar.
The actor sports an intense expression in the new poster shared on Instagram on Thursday, with a thin line of blood from a gash trickling down his cheek. His hair is drenched with sweat and it seems he is apparently in the middle of a boxing bout.
“In the ring of life you have to keep fighting till your last breath to become a champion. Champion Aa raha hai (The Champion is coming),” wrote Kartik as caption as he shared the poster on Instagram.

Slated to hit theatres on June 14, Chandu Champion is presented by Kabir and Sajid Nadidwala.

The film is based on the life of India’s first paralympic gold medalist Murlikant Petkar, who was originally a boxer.
Who was Murlikant Petkar?
Petkar originally served in the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) in the Indian Army. But he was disabled during the 1965 war against Pakistan, sustaining severe bullet wounds, which led him to transition to swimming and other sports.
He represented India in table tennis at the 1968 Summer Paralympics and secured four medals in swimming.

Kabir Khan, known for films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and 83 (2021), collaborates with Kartik for the first time in Chandu Champion.

Earlier, on Wednesday, Kartik had dropped the first poster from Chandu Champion on social media. The poster showed Kartik's chiseled body; the actor has worked hard to undergo a physical transformation for the film.
Apart from Chandu Champion, Kartik will also star in Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 alongside Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit and Tripti Dimri.
