Abhishek Bachchan to play the antagonist in Shah Rukh Khan's King, confirms Amitabh Bachchan

Shah Rukh Khan's next film - King- has been creating a lot of buzz ever since its inception. The film will feature King Khan and his daughter Suhana. This will be the first time that the father-daughter duo will share screen space. On Tuesday, it was revealed that Abhishek Bachchan has now come on board to play the antagonist in the film.

While there was a buzz on social media on Abhishek's casting since morning, the news was confirmed by his father, superstar Amitabh Bachchan.

The social media-savvy superstar took to X to confirm the news and even wishedhis son all the best for his new project.

Sharing a screenshot of a news article about Abhishek joining the cast of King, Big B on X wrote, “All the best Abhishek… It is TIME!!!”

An official announcement regarding the film is still awaited.

This is not the first time that Abhishek will be working with Shah Rukh Khan. The two actors were part of two blockbuster films in the past. Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna - which was directed by Karan Johar and Happy New Year which was helmed by Farah Khan.

King, according to reports, will be directed by Sujoy Ghosh. Ghosh's daughter Diya directed Abhishek in Bob Biswas which was a spin-off of the iconic character from Ghosh's hit film Kahaani.

Recently, a video of SRK was widely shared on social media, where eagle-eyed fans noticed the film’s script lying on the table beside him.

The video happened to be from a clip of Shah Rukh congratulating cinematographer Santosh Sivan after he received the prestigious Pierre Angenieux Excel Lens Award at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
