Ayushmann Khurrana has been roped in a gay love story titled ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’. It will be a sequel to his previous hit film ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ that came out in 2017 and paired him with Bhumi Pednekar.

Confirming the news, Ayushmann said that its an “out and out entertaining film” that will handle the subject of homosexuality sensitively.

In a statement, he said, “It is a beautiful story told in the quintessential Aanand L. Rai style of filmmaking that will touch your hearts and leave a smile on your face. It is one of the most brilliant films that I have read in a long time and it handles the subject of homosexuality really sensitively. It is a pleasure to collaborate again with the master storyteller of our times. It is an out and out entertaining film that will also make you think and that’s the hallmark of good cinema.”

While the first film was directed by Aanand L Rai and dealt with the issue of erectile dysfunction with humour, this film will talk about homosexuality. It will be directed by Hitesh Kewalya.

‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ is expected to go on floors in the last week of August. According to producer Rai of Colour Yellow Productions, the success of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan encouraged the makers to turn it into a franchise which tackles subjects in a light-hearted manner.
