Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman gave a shoutout to Taylor Swift on the release of her 11th studio album, which has as expected, broken all records. The latest album called The Tortured Poets Department is not like any other you have heard.

Released on April 19, The Tortured Poets Department has established Taylor as an iconic star who delivers hit music one after another. With the latest album, she released not one but two sets. There was also an extended version of the album she dropped and fans couldn’t believe their luck.

Meanwhile, AR Rahman was a few days late in the congratulatory message but he wrote, “All the best @taylorswift13 for your latest album #THETORTUEDPOETSDEPARTMENT.” He even gave the link to her Spotify page.

Fans were surprised to see their idol rooting for another. AR Rahman enjoys a massive fandom in the country with some of his music being called a cult classic. Soon after he posted the message tagging Taylor Swift, fans started asking for a collaboration between the two.

Many called AR Rahman a Swiftie, a term that is attributed to fans of the pop singer. One fan wrote, “Legend recognises legend!” Another wrote, “Which song is your favorite? “Boss! What! Collab and all… is it something new," read another comment."

The Tortured Poets Department has become the most-streamed album in a single day this year, according to Spotify. The album achieved the feat in less than 12 hours of its debut on the platform.
