Hours after shots were reportedly fired outside his Vancouver home in Canada, Punjabi rapper-singer AP Dhillon took to Instagram to assure fans of his well-being.

On Monday, shots were fired outside the singer's bungalow in Vancouver, Canada. Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and gangster Rohit Godara have reportedly claimed responsibility for the shooting.

On Tuesday (Sep 3), Dhillon, who has been living in Canada for many years now, wrote on Instagram Stories, "I'm safe. My people are safe. Thank you to everyone who reached out. Your support means everything (folded hands emoji). Peace and love to all."

Punjab-born, Indian Canadian rapper AP Dhillon is known for songs like Brown Munde, Excuses, Summer High, With You, and Dil Nu, among others.

A video, which is being circulated on the internet, but has not been independently verified by investigative agencies, shows a man standing outside a house firing multiple shots at night. The location too remains unverified.

As per a post on social media, which is being widely shared, gangster Rohit Godara has claimed responsibility for the firing that took place at two different locations in Canada - Victoria Island and Woodbridge Toronto.

The Salman Khan connection

The firing incident seemed to have a Salman Khan link to it. The Bishnoi gang is reportedly irked with the singer after he featured actor Salman Khan in a recent music video for his song Old Money. The gangster claims he is associated with Lawrence Bishnoi, and also issued death threats to AP Dhillon.

Earlier this year in July, Salman Khan had named Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi in the chargesheet filed by Mumbai Police in connection with the shooting incident that took place outside his house in April 2024.
