The film will not talk about his political career but focus on his personal life.

Amid elections, and a tell-all book by ex-wife, news has it that a biopic is being made on former cricketer and now politician Imran Khan. According to a report in Pakistan daily Dawn, the film is being directed by Faisal Aman Khan and is titled as 'Kaptaan'(Captain in Urdu). Actor Abdul Mannan is reportedly playing Imran Khan in the film and actress Saeeda Imtiaz will play his first wife Jemima.

The movie will focus on his life as a cricketer and his first marriage and has got nothing to do with elections. “Kaptaan has nothing to do with elections,” Saeeda Imtiaz was quoted as saying to Dawn. “It’s a film purely on his personal life, like his life spent with Jemima and politics, but not the other wives that he has at the moment. There are a lot of things that people might not know and they’ll find out because of the film,” she said.

Abdul Mannan who plays the cricketer-politician in the film, met Khan a few times to prepare for his role. "We met around three times...It’s a demanding role but I did the best that I could,” he said.

The film is scheduled to release end of the year though a date has not been finalised yet.

Imran Khan is the prime ministerial candidate of his party Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf in this general elections. Pakistan is scheduled to vote on July 25th this year. He is the former captain of the Pakistan cricket team and under his captaincy, the team won the 1992 cricket world cup.

Apart from politics, Khan has been in news off-late thanks to his ex-wife Reham Khan. In a recently published eponymous memoir, Reham has accused her ex-husband of infidelity, black magic and drug abuse.

Interestingly, Reham claims she was in talks with a prominent Indian film producer to make a biopic on Imran Khan but the producer wanted the biopic to talk about his first marriage only.
