Aditya Roy Kapur is putting his views on relationships out there! The Night Manager star is known for his dashing looks and personality. However, the actor is known for keeping his personal life and values away from the limelight. Recently, he has finally answered what a relationship means to him and whether he's commitment-phobic.
In a conversation with Kareena Kapoor Khan on her show What Women Want, Aditya was asked about his relationship status and whether he's commitment-phobic.
Refuting being phobic to commitments, the actor said that he can't say that he's commitment-phobic as he has been in years-long relationships in the past.
"I can’t say I’m commitment phobic because I had long-term relationships when I was younger, in my 20s, like a five-year relationship and a three-year relationship. I should not think I'm commitment-phobic,” he said.
Explaining his point further, the actor said, ''You obviously have to feel compelled to get into something with someone and you have to feel like really wanting it not get into it just because you don't like to be on your own. ''
Saying that the feeling of loneliness should not be the reason to be with someone, the actor said, ''I'm good on my own and emotionally self-sufficient.''
However, the actor further said that having love in your life is a beautiful thing and it's a whole different thing from what he said earlier.
When asked if he's in love or not, Aditya said that let's keep it a mystery adding that he's currently ''chilling.''
Aditya's rumoured relationship with Ananya Panday has been the talk of the town. After dating secretly for two years, Aditya and Ananya reportedly broke up earlier this year.
The two have never confirmed their relationship despite numerous public appearances.
In May, Ananya hinted at a breakup with a post reading, “If it is truly meant for you, it will come back to you. It will leave only for the sake of teaching you the lessons you could only learn on your own. If it is truly meant for you, it will return even if you’ve pushed it away, even if you’re in denial, even if you assume something so beautiful could never be truly yours – because if it’s truly meant for you, it is never not a piece of you. It is never not intricately tied into the depths of your soul.”
On the work front, Aditya was last seen in the crime thriller The Night Manager, co-starring Anil Kapoor, Sobhita Dhulipala, Tillotama Shome, Ravi Behl and Saswata Chatterjee among others. The show has nabbed an International Emmy Award nominationin the Best Drama Series category.
