Actress Raveena Tandon and her driver became a victim of a mob attack last week outside their Mumbai Bungalow when a group of peoplestarted hitting them alleging that her car had hit three people. The video of the disturbing incident quickly went viral showing the actress pleading with the crowd not to hit her and the driver.
A few days after she got a clean chit from the Mumbai police, the actressbrokeher silence. Taking toInstagram, the actress penned a note on the public scrutiny and voilence against women.
She wrote, “In a world where public scrutiny is relentless, it is essential to remember that women achievers are human too. Disparaging them solely for their fame is unfair and harmful.”
The actress wrote further, “This increasing violence against women and children world over needs to be addressed urgently. It’s time we stand united against violence and hooliganism.”
However, the actress has not mentioned the incident in the post.
What happened With Raveena and her Driver?
On Saturday (June 1), a shocking video emerged online showing the actress and her driver being attacked by a mob on Carter Road, Mumbai, claiming that the driver had hit three people.
The viral video showed the actress screaming, ‘please don’t hit me’ as she tried to save her driver from the mob. Later, some netizens claimed that the actress was drunk when the incident took place. However, Mumbai Police debunked all the claims saying that Raveena was not intoxicated and no one was hit by the car.
In the statement, Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajtilak Roshan told a media portal that they had checked the entire CCTV footage and no one was hit by her car.
"The complainant gave a false complaint in the alleged video. We checked the entire CCTV footage of the society and found that the actress' driver was reversing the car into the society when this family was crossing the same lane. The family stopped the car and said to the driver that he should check if people were behind the car before reversing and an argument started between them,"
