
England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have appointedDavid Young as their new psychologist as the side prepares for the upcoming T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies. Young, who will be on a short spell with the Englandsideis employedby Premier League champions Manchester City. He has been instrumental in ManCity’sexcellent formwhichrecently saw them lift their fourth consecutive Premier League title.
Young comes with a successful CV as a psychologist, havinghelped England win the ODI World Cup during his first spell with the side. He was the chief psychologist during 2016 and 2020 before switching his alliances to football with Manchester City. His arrival was welcomed by white-ball skipper Jos Buttler and Matthew Mott as they look to defend their T20 World Cup crownwhichthey won in 2022 in Australia.

DuringYoung’stenure with Man City, the sidealsowon the Champions League along with FA Cup and Premier League titles. He will now look to replicate the same success with England as they look to put behind a disappointing ODI World Cup in India.
England are paired with arch-rivals Australia in group B and will be favourites to make the reach round. They will rely on the services of captain Jos Buttler, Sam Curran, Harry Brook and others in an attempt to replicate the 2022 T20 World Cup success.
