T20 WC: Saurabh Netravalkar calmly grins as USA record HISTORIC win against Pakistan - Watch

USA defeated Pakistan in a thrilling Super Over clash in match 11 of the T20 World Cup, being held in USA and West Indies. India-bornSaurabh Netravalkar was the star of the show, as he halted Pakistan's run chase in the Super Over to hand his team a memorable win. As soon as the last ball was bowled, his teammates rejoiced and huggedSaurabh. However,Saurabh didn't break into any wildcelebratory gestures and maintained a calm grin.

At theGrand Prairie Stadium, Dallas, Babar Azam & Co. were asked to bat first and the Men in Green posted 159 for 7, after struggling in the first ten overs. In reply, USA tied the game, managing159/3. In the Super Over, pacerNetravalkar held his nerves to defend USA's score of 18/1 as Pakistan only managed 13, with the loss of a wicket, to lose by five runs.

Talking about the Super Over, USA piled up 18 in six balls, bowled by an erratic Mohammad Amir (who had a good outing during the run-chase, with 1 for 25). In reply, Pakistan gave themselves a chance with Fakhar Zaman and Iftikhar Ahmed coming out to bat butNetravalkar -- with match figures of 2 for 18 -- took USA to a historic win. Asked to bat first, Pakistan lost Mohammad Rizwan,Usman Khan and Zaman early asNetravalkar and left-arm spinnerNosthush Kenjige made a fine start with the ball. Skipper Babar (43-ball 44) and Shadab Khan (40) added 72 for the fourth-wicket to revive their innings. In the end, Iftikhar and Shaheen Afridi's finishing acts propelled the 2009 winners to a competitive 159 for 7.

However, USA batters looked determined to chase down the score. Skipper Monank Patel held one end and added 36 runs with his opening partner Steven Taylor before putting on another 68 withAndries Gous (35). While the two were back in the hut before the death overs, vice-captain Aaron Jones' 36 not out ensured the game went into the Super Over. Amir and Naseem Shah were economical and chipped in with a wicket each, however, Pakistan's sloppy fielding and erratic bowling -- especially in the Super Over -- led to their shocking loss.
