South Africa are all set to host sub-continent giants Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the 2024-25 season after they announced the itinerary on Friday (May 3). The Proteas will host Sri Lanka in a two-match Test series before welcoming Pakistan at the turn of the year. While the Sri Lanka series is limited to two Test matches, the Pakistan series will consist of two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is. After the series players from both camps will participate in franchisee leagues including SA20, ILT20 and BBL before linking up again for the Champions Trophy.

Pakistan, Sri Lanka to tour South Africa

"As we open our doors to esteemed cricketing nations like Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and England, we not only showcase the talent and competitiveness of South African cricket but also celebrate the global appeal and camaraderie inherent in our beloved sport," Cricket South Africa (CSA) chief Pholetsi Moseki said.

"These fixtures serve as a platform to not just compete, but to foster bonds between nations, uniting players and fans alike in the shared love for cricket."

The Proteas will start their home season in Durban with the first Test against Sri Lanka on November 27 while Pretoria will be the host for the traditional Boxing Day Test which will take place against Pakistan on December 26. The Cape Town Test, which traditionally serves as the first Test of the calendar year will start on Jan 3 against Pakistan which will end the month-long tour.

With the SA20 season then taking place, players from the national squad will participate in the tournament while Pakistan players will participate in the Pakistan Super League. The schedule will be tight for players considering the Champions Trophy is set to take place in mid-February.

First Test: Nov. 27-Dec. 1 (Durban)

Second Test: Dec. 5-9 (Gqeberha)

Pakistan tour of South Africa:

First T20: Dec. 10 (Durban)

Second T20: Dec. 13 (Pretoria)

Third T20: Dec. 14 (Johannesburg)

First ODI: Dec. 17 (Paarl)

Second ODI: Dec. 19 (Cape Town)

Third ODI: Dec. 22 (Johannesburg)

First Test: Dec. 26-30 (Pretoria)

Second Test: Jan. 3-7 (Cape Town)
