USA stunned Pakistan in a Super Over thriller in match 11 of the 2024 T20 World Cup, at Dallas, on Thursday (June 6). Opting to bowl first, Monank Patel-led USA rode on left-arm spinner Nosthush Kenjige andSaurabh Netravalkar's early strikes to dent Babar Azam-led Pakistan. While Shadab Khan's 40, captain Babar's 43-ball 44 and finishing cameos from Iftikhar Ahmed and Shaheen Afridi took Pakistan to 159/7, USA tied the game -- despite economical spells from Mohammad Amir and Naseem Shah -- courtesy of captain Monank's 50 and vice-captain Aaron Jones' vital 26-ball 36*.

In the Super Over,Amir conceded 18 runs before Pakistan batters only managed 13/1 to lose their tournament opener. USA pacer Netravalkar kept his calm to bowl a fantastic final six balls and take his side home. With this win, the co-hosts are now at the top in Group A with two successive wins, having already beaten Canada in the first game of the 20-nation competition.
