Ibiza, Spain

Uber Technologies has unveiled its strategy to expand its offerings to meet the emerging demand of water-based transportation in Europe. The Uber of water taxi, dubbed ‘Uber Yacht’ service, is set for July 26th launch in Ibiza, Spain. This comes after the region recorded an impressive growth in tourism to different countries within the continent as more tourists begin to look for thrilling and exotic products and services in their holidays.

In addition to the yacht service, Uber celebrates the launch of a “limo boat” as a new floating limousine bus line in Venice, Italy starting July to cruise through the Venetian lagoon. This effort underscores Uber’s continued efforts to deliver unique mobility solutions that fit naturally into the tourism fabric and Pecos Maravillas scenery.

Seasonal flexibility was also shown by Uber where the company revealed that the customer demand for its services had risen by a staggering 55% during the summer of 2023 in the international market, especially Greece and Spain. This demand increase has seen the Uber company start the expansion of its “Uber Boat” from the initial launch in Mykonos to Athens, Corfu and Santorini. This expansion is to enable easier access to secluded beach frontage and remote destination elite, and thereby improving the potential tourist experience.

In the future, Uber has expanded its strategies of exploration as well as coordination in the field of travel. Earlier in May, the company penned a joint venture agreement to launch cruises along the Seine River in Paris to profit from existing interest created by the Olympics. This initiative is in line with the approach Uber seems to be taking in anticipating the needs of travelers looking for extreme and memorable experiences in Europe’s historic places.
