Tata Motors, known for its specialisation in cars and SUVs, has unveiled the Nexon iCNG and introduced new variants to the Nexon.ev lineup. These additions include a new 45 kWh battery pack and the premium Red Hot DARK edition. With these updates, the Tata Nexon becomes India's first and only vehicle to offer four distinct powertrain options- petrol, diesel, CNG, and electric.

Since its introduction in 2017, the Nexon has consistently ranked among India's top-selling SUVs. It has gained popularity by offering customers a unique blend of stylish SUV design, strong emphasis on safety, and class-leading features, all contributing to superior performance.

Mr Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., commented on the new Nexon offerings, "The Nexon has achieved remarkable success, with over 700,000 units sold in just seven years. Its popularity has grown steadily, driven by well-timed and innovative technological upgrades. Today's new launches further enhance its appeal, advancing Tata Motor's successful multi-powertrain strategy and ensuring there's a Nexon variant for every customer need."

He further explained the significance of the new variants, "The Nexon iCNG, India's first turbocharged CNG vehicle, will appeal to value-conscious and environmentally aware customers who don't want to compromise on drive quality and experience. The new 45 kWh battery pack in the Nexon.ev will enable worry-free intercity travel with a near-real-world range of 350-370 km, while maintaining familiar comforts and conveniences. For discerning customers seeking to make a statement or preferring premium options, the Red DARK edition offers an enhanced experience."

The new Nexon CNG comes in eight variants, and these are the ex-showrrom prices it is available at:

Smart (O)-INR 8.99 lakh, Smart+ priced at INR 9.69 lakh, Smart+ S- INR 9.99 lakh, Pure- INR 10.69 lakh, Pure S- INR 10.99 lakh, Creative- INR 11.69 lakh, Creative+ priced at INR 12.19 lakh and Fearless+ PS at INR 14.59 lakh.

The Nexon iCNG introduces India's first turbocharged CNG powertrain to the market. It features a 1.2L turbocharged engine that delivers 100PS of power and 170NM of torque, ensuring uncompromised performance. The vehicle also boasts a segment-leading boot space of 321 liters, achieved through Tata Motor's innovative twin-cylinder technology.

Besides its performance and practicality, the Nexon iCNG offers premium features such as a panoramic sunroof, leatherette ventilated seats, and a 10.25" infotainment screen by Harman, complemented by a 10.25" fully-digital instrument cluster. These features position the Nexon iCNG as the most luxurious CNG SUV in India. The vehicle also incorporates advanced technology, including direct start in CNG mode and a single ECU for automatic switching between petrol and CNG.

Safety remains a priority for Tata Motors, with the Nexon iCNG built on a 5-star G-NCAP rated architecture. It offers advanced safety features like leak detection, a fire protection device, thermal incident protection, and rear impact protection, among others.

The Nexon.ev now comes with a 45kWh battery pack, enabling faster charging speeds and an improved range of 489 km (Urban + Extra Urban), with a real-world range of 350-370 km. This upgrade addresses the issue of high acquisition costs compared to conventional fuel vehicles, making it an attractive option for potential EV buyers.

The new Red Hot DARK edition of the Nexon.ev further enhances its premium appeal with red-themed inserts throughout the interior and exterior, exclusive UI & UX for the infotainment system and instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, and a front trunk (frunk). It retains popular features such as Arcade.ev, smart welcome and goodbye sequences, a charging indicator integrated into the front LED DRL, Vehicle to Vehicle and Vehicle to Load technology, and a phygital control panel inside the vehicle.
