Segway unleashes trio of affordable electric scooters in Australia

Segway, the renowned micro-mobility solutions provider, is set to revolutionise the Australian electric scooter market with the introduction of three cutting-edge models. The company's latest offerings, slated for release in August, promise to combine advanced technology with affordability, catering to a wide range of riders.

The new lineup, marketed as an e-Motorbike range, features the high-end E300SE alongside two more budget-friendly options, the E125S and E110S. Despite the e-Motorbike moniker, these vehicles closely resemble traditional electric scooters in design and functionality.

Leading the pack is the flagship E300SE, boasting impressive specifications that are sure to appeal to enthusiasts and commuters alike. Powered by a robust 10kW motor, this model comes equipped with two removable 2000WH batteries and the option to add a third for extended range. The E300SE can reach a top speed of 105 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in a mere 2.9 seconds, rivalling the performance of many conventional motorcycles. With a typical range of 130km, it offers ample coverage for urban commuters and weekend adventurers. The E300SE is competitively priced at $8,990, making it an attractive option in its class.

Segway has integrated several advanced features into the E300SE, including compatibility with the Segway-Ninebot app. This smartphone application allows users to remotely control various functions such as power on/off, locking, and unlocking. Additionally, it provides tracking capabilities and detailed vehicle performance analysis. Safety hasn't been overlooked, with the inclusion of dual-channel ABS and EABS (Electronic Anti-lock Braking System) to ensure rider protection.

For those seeking more modest performance at a lower price point, the E125S and E110S models offer compelling alternatives. The E125S, priced at USD 6,990, features a dual removable battery setup and a 3.5kW motor. It can achieve a maximum speed of 45km/h and boasts a range of 108km. Charging times are impressively quick, with 80% capacity reached in just 2.4 hours and a full charge completed in 4 hours.

The entry-level E110S, available for USD 4,990, is equipped with a 1.8kW motor. It provides a typical range of 57 km and can be charged to 80% in 3 hours, with a full charge taking 4 hours. Both the E125S and E110S models feature spacious seating designed to accommodate two riders comfortably, along with generous storage compartments.

Safety and connectivity are prioritised across all models. The E125S and E110S incorporate dual-channel braking systems combined with EABS, while also offering smart connectivity features through the Segway-Ninebot app.

One of the most appealing aspects of this new range is the pricing structure. All three models are being offered at introductory prices that include on-road costs, making them even more accessible to potential buyers. Furthermore, each e-Motorbike is approved for learner and provisional riders, opening up the market to newer motorcycle enthusiasts.
