Maruti Suzuki introduces Electronic Stability Program as standard in Alto K10 and S-Presso

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has announced a significant enhancement to its safety features by making the Electronic Stability Program+ (ESP) a standard offering across its passenger vehicle lineup. Starting this month, the Alto K10 and S-Presso models will be equipped with ESP, a crucial safety technology now standard across all Maruti Suzuki cars. Notably, the company has introduced this feature without increasing the price of these models, emphasising its commitment to customer safety and value.

The introduction of ESP across the entire Maruti Suzuki range underscores the company's dedication to making advanced safety features more accessible to a broader customer base. By integrating ESP as a standard feature, Maruti Suzuki aims to enhance driver confidence and vehicle stability, offering an improved driving experience without added costs.

Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer of Marketing & Sales at Maruti Suzuki India, highlighted the significance of this move. “The addition of Electronic Stability Program+ to our standard feature set aligns with our mission to democratise advanced technology,” Banerjee said. “This development not only increases the value proposition of our vehicles but also ensures enhanced safety and driving confidence for all our customers. At Maruti Suzuki, we are committed to making high-quality, advanced technology accessible to everyone.”

Alongside ESP, Maruti Suzuki's standard safety suite includes dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, engine immobiliser, and the HEARTECT platform, which features a collapsible steering column among other safety elements.

The Electronic Stability Program+ (ESP) works by counteracting skidding and maintaining the vehicle's intended path. Integrating with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control System (TCS), and Stability Control (SC), ESP uses sensors to monitor vehicle movement. An electronic control unit processes this data to adjust the vehicle's trajectory, enhancing overall stability and control.

This move positions Maruti Suzuki as a leader in promoting safety technology in affordable vehicles, reflecting its ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable cars to Indian consumers.
