Kia India has unveiled an extensive refresh of its popular Seltos and Sonet model lineups. This expansion introduces a range of new variants and enhanced features, demonstrating the company's commitment to meeting the diverse needs and aspirations of its customer base.
The Seltos, Kia's flagship SUV in India, now boasts an impressive array of 21 variants, while the compact SUV Sonet offers customers a choice among 22 different configurations. This significant expansion includes the introduction of five new variants across both models, alongside a revamped X-Line trim.
At the heart of this update are four new GTX variants, available with both Petrol DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission) and Diesel AT (Automatic Transmission) powertrains. These additions are designed to cater to driving enthusiasts who seek performance without compromising on comfort and technology. The GTX variants come equipped with advanced features such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), a sliding armrest, and a 360-degree camera, offering a substantial upgrade over the existing HTX trim.
For budget-conscious buyers eyeing a turbocharged petrol engine, Kia has introduced the Sonet Smartstream G1.0 HTK iMT variant. This new offering brings the excitement of a turbo petrol engine to the sub-INR 10 lakh price segment, making it more accessible to a broader range of customers.
The premium X-Line trim has also received attention in this update. Kia has introduced an Aurora Black Pearl colour option, providing customers with an all-black glossy aesthetic alternative to the existing Matt Graphite finish. This move expands the visual appeal of the X-Line, catering to those who prefer a more sophisticated and sleek appearance.
In the top-tier Seltos GTX+ variants, Kia has added solar glass and white brake callipers for both front and rear wheels. These enhancements not only improve the vehicle's aesthetics but also contribute to its functionality, with the solar glass potentially aiding in temperature regulation within the cabin.
The Sonet, Kia's compact SUV offering, hasn't been left behind in this update. Lower trims of the Sonet now feature in-demand amenities such as ISOFIX child seat anchors, a wireless phone charger, rear wipers and washers, and diamond-cut alloy wheels. These additions bring premium features to more affordable variants, enhancing the overall value proposition of the Sonet range.
Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales Officer of Kia India, emphasised the company's customer-centric approach, stating, "Constant evolution and customer centricity have been the key to Kia's success in India." He further explained that these product enhancements are part of a broader strategy to offer customers the latest technology and features while ensuring the best value for their investment.
The introduction of the GTX trims across both models is particularly noteworthy. These variants are designed to deliver the thrill of driving associated with the GT line while incorporating cutting-edge automotive innovations. This approach allows Kia to cater to driving enthusiasts without compromising on the latest technological advancements.
