Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has proudly announced its flagship electric SUV, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, making an electrifying milestone of becoming the Guinness World Record holder for the greatest altitude change by an electric car. Evo India’s professional driving team led an extraordinary adventure as the Ioniq 5 heightened altitude by 5,802 meters. The road network stretched from the highest drivable point in India, Umling La of Leh Ladakh at 5,799 meters (19,024 feet) above sea level, to Kuttanad 3 meters (1 foot) below sea level in the state of Kerala.
The adventure covered 4,900 kilometres in 14 days, across arduous terrain and varying climates. Hyundai Ioniq 5 proved its resilience, superior engineering and advanced electric vehicle (EV) technology from freezing Himalayan heights to humid coastal plains.
