Hero MotoCorp unveils future mobility vision at EICMA 2024

At EICMA 2024, Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest motorcycle and scooter manufacturer, displayed its vision for the future of mobility by presenting a set of new motorcycles and an electric scooter. The company also said it is planning to foray into several European and UK markets by the second half of 2025, highlighting its global growth aspirations.

Aligned to its overarching mission to 'Be the Future of Mobility', Hero MotoCorp unveiled a gamut of both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) offerings, including the industry acclaimed futuristic Surge S32, FIM World Championship winning Hero 450 Rally, and many futuristic electric concepts.

Product lineup

Continuing its focus on premiumisation, Hero MotoCorp unveiled three highly anticipated new models: Karizma XMR 250, Xtreme 250R, and Xpulse 210. These new motorcycles span multiple categories, such as adventure and off-road, street and track performance, but with a design intent to fit riders of all sizes.

Xpulse 210: Designed with the input of FIM World Champion Ross Branch of Hero MotoSports that will tackle rough terrains smoothly, the Xpulse 210 is a lightweight adventure motorcycle that’s been developed to conquer the toughest of terrain. The 210cc DOHC liquid cooled engine supplies 24.5 bhp and 20.4 Nm of torque to the 180 mm bore and 91 mm stroke teardrop piston and drives the rear wheel via a 5 speed gearbox, giving the thousands of riders the excitement of both on and off road fun. The 6 speed gearbox with slippper and assist clutch for smooth gear shifts along with 220mm ground clearance and adjustable handle bars are key features.

Xtreme 250R: Styled as a sportbike built for performance and agility, the Xtreme 250R is a street focused sportsbike. The Xtreme 250R promises speed and handling with a 250cc liquid cooled engine creating 30 PS along with 25 Nm of torque. With a USD front suspension, and 6 step adjustable mono shock rear suspension, this motorcycle is equipped with the most stable and secure handling. In addition to these advanced tech features, the helmet includes a lap timer, drag timer, and switchable ABS. All of these features make it stand out to performance orientated riders.

Karizma XMR 250: The Karizma XMR 250 is a true sportsbike that brings in aggressive styling with high performance. There is a 250cc liquid cooled engine which provides maximum power of 30 PS and maximum torque of 25 Nm. The motorcycle is equipped with kinked, strongly aerodynamic winglets, a trellisframe, and adjustable clip on handlebars in order to give maximum comfort and control. Features like a lap timer, drag timer and multi-projector LED headlights help make the XMR 250 a performance-based scooter.

Hero MotoCorp also launched the VIDA Z electric scooter for the environmentally conscious motorists. The VIDA Z aims to deliver the most stylish, most fun, most sustainable riding experience. With a modular architecture and a PMSM drivetrain, it has battery capacities from 2.2 kWh to 4.4 kWh, and offers optimal performance and low maintenance. It also ships with a suite of new age connectivity offerings such as real time vehicle health monitoring, geofencing and Over the Air (OTA) updates via MY VIDA App.

Global expansion plans

Hero MotoCorp will be launching in the European and UK markets from the second half of 2025 with the initial focus on VIDA Z electric scooter. After this, the company will also introduce its same range of higher capacity ICE motorcycles to suit the variegated demands of the European customers. Distributors tie the brand to products with the company already in place in key European markets such as Italy, Spain, France and the UK. In addition, Hero’s Tech Centre in Germany and Hero MotoSports Team Rally are expected to help in putting together the required products for the European customers.
