
The new Genesis Neolun is set to take the top spot in the South Korean carmaker’s portfolio. The 3-row electric SUV is said to be benchmarked against the most luxurious SUVs on sale, namely the Range Rover, Bentley Bentayga and the likes. The new Neolun SUV will lay the foundation for Genesis' plan of launching only electric models post 2025.
Since the Neolun SUV is in its concept form, it comes with new-age features to the gills. A few of its highlights include coach doors, a large flexible screen for the infotainment system that can be unfurled from the panel and swivelling front seats. It remains to be seen how many of its droolworthy features will make it to the production model, which is said to hit showrooms in 2026. Coach doors are of high possibility, since other SUVs like the Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Ferrari Purosangue already feature such doors.

Another highlight of the new Neolun is said to be its platform, which is Hyundai Group’s new eM platform. The new eM platform is said to replace the eGMP platform that currently underpins all the electric offerings under Hyundai Group’s umbrella. While not confirmed, the new platform is also likely to benefit from lithium-iron-phosphate chemistry in cell-to-pack technology. The C2P tech cuts down on parts usage while also liberating more space on the inside.
Speaking further about the details of the Neolun concept, it features a radiant heating system, which follows the principles of Korea’s traditional “ondol” concept. The traditional heating concept utilises direct heat transfer from underneath the floor to provide warmth, working in conjunction with the heating films on the dashboard, door trims, floor, seatbacks and console sides.
Its design also makes it unmistakably Genesis, thanks to the uniquely-styled LED lighting, which also mimics the design of the brand’s signature radiator grille. Genesis is yet to reveal the battery specifications and power tune options for the new Neolun.
