Daimler India appoints Michael Moebius as President and Chief Procurement and Supply Chain Officer

Michael Moebius has joined Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), a wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, as its new president and chief procurement and supply chain officer, starting November 1, 2024. Muthu Maruthachalam C, who has been in this role for over five years, will hand over the baton to Moebius, who brings approximately 30 years of experience in the passenger and commercial vehicle sectors worldwide.

Previously at Daimler Truck Asia (DTA), Moebius was Head of Quality Management in Japan, leading successful quality initiatives for Mitsubishi Fuso, DICV, PABCO and major CKD assembly sites throughout the world. He was instrumental in providing product quality enhancement, reducing warranty costs and developing innovative solution like ‘Proactive sensing’ (advanced big data tool for early failure detection).

After joining Daimler in 1990, Moebius has worked for Mercedes-Benz Cars and Daimler Buses and driven projects across a range of markets in Brazil, Vietnam, Iran, India and Japan. In 2010, he played a crucial role in DICV, helping establish global quality standards for a product or process, developing products and improving processes.
