CEAT Indian Supercross Racing League sees 20% surge in Season 2 registrations

The CEAT Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL) has now officially closed its registration and lined up for a great run in Season 2, boasting a 20 percent increase in participants from the inaugural season. With the rider auction being scheduled for October 2024, the league is to bring its global visibility to a new level and provide fans with yet another great motorsports show.

The response to the season 2 has been overwhelming with 145 riders participating in the competition and many of them are reputed riders from USA, Spain, France, Germany, Sweden, South Africa, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, and India. This upward trend of international participation added to the ever-increasing Indian participants can be regarded as the league’s continuous expansion and the identification of Supercross as a viable talent showcase.

Eeshan Lokhande, Co-founder & Director of CEAT ISRL, expressed his excitement for the upcoming season: “The response that we have received for Season 2 has been tremendous. What we are seeing now is a new beginning for motorsports in India and a new paradigm for CEAT ISRL to come and play a part in International as well as Indian Supercross. It is our endeavour to make the season even bigger and better, and to enthrall fans all over the world.”

Among the audience’s favorite riders to come back to race in Season 2 are 9-Time Australian Champion Matt Moss, Reid Taylor, Lyndon POS MxON World Champion Jordy Tixier and Asia Motocross Champion Thanarat Penjan. Other new riders are AMA Pro Motocross Champion, Mike Alessi, French Supercross Champion, Greg Aranda, French Motocross Champion, Maxime Desprey and Australian Motocross Champion, Luke Clout. Other promising riders from India who will feature include 3-time Indian Supercross Champion Rugved Barguje, Shlok Ghorpade, and Ikshan Shanbhag.

Looking back on his performance Matt Moss had this to say, “Season 1 was awesome; the races were exciting and the Indian people were exceptionally hospitable It will be great to come back for Season 2 especially with the new competition of international riders.” Mike Alessi echoed, “I am grateful to be racing here in India and looking forward to performing well.Season 1 was fantastic and I expect Season 2 to be even more exciting.”

Rugved Barguje commented, “Season 1 was beyond expectations. I’m fully recovered and ready to aim for the podium this season.” Jordi Tixier concluded, “Season 1 exceeded all expectations. I’m excited for more races, new rivals, and the chance to meet even more fans.”

As the league prepares for its second season, the upcoming rider auction promises to enhance the competition with a diverse and elite roster. With multiple rounds scheduled across various Indian cities, Season 2 is set to offer thrilling action and set new standards in the world of Supercross racing.
