2025 Volkswagen Jetta updated with new look, more features
Volkswagen is preparing the 2025 Jetta lineup with improvements to be made regardless of trim level. The most affordable Jetta of all gets the boot of its six-speed manual gearbox which is a good thing for consumers of the automatic model.
But, for those people who like using manual transmission, they do not have to panic. The Jetta GLI variant will also keep the six-speed manual as standard for those who like to take full control of the car and its handling abilities. The 2025 Jetta models in both sedans and wagons are set to receive some improvements to their exterior and interior designs as well as advanced technology features.
Below the skin, the base Jetta retains its five-cylinder turbocharged 1.5L I4 engine, now combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission, producing 158 hp. Moving up to the Jetta GLI brings in the powerful EA888. A 2.0-liter turbocharged I4 engine with a capacity of 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The engine of the GLI model gives a consumer an option of a six-speed manual transmission or a seven speed automatic transmission to guarantee efficiency in the handling of the vehicle depending on the preferred method.

Exteriorly, the 2025 Jetta models demonstrate changes in the front and rear facelift. The front part has new upper and lower grills, headlamps with LEDs, and an optional light bar. At the rear, there is a new trunk lid that has standard light bars connecting the tail lamps. Wheels differ with Jetta SE featuring 17-inch alloy wheels with SEL and Jetta GLI featuring the 18-inch ones.
Inside, the Jetta is equipped with an 8.0-inch touchscreen media system located on the center stack of the dashboard. The touch-controlled Climatronic Touch climate control system becomes the standard for the sedan model. Also, controls like satellite radio, voice commands, and wireless charges for phones, which were formerly limited to SEL grades, can now be found in more affordable SE models.
The I. Q. Drive system from Volkswagen is also included as a standard in all 2025 Jetta models as it comprises features such as semi-automatic control of driving, forward collision assist, automatic emergency brake systems, and active blind-spot monitorage system. This system was available only in higher trims of Volkswagen cars, but the company has now strengthened its sense of safety in all Volkswagen cars.
The 2025 Jetta is slated for a Q3 2024 release to the market after going through production. The base model price has been raised a bit more, from the previous manual version, though the Jetta in automatic starts at USD 23,220 – that is; USD 240 cheaper compared to the packaging that comes with the automatic. The exact pricing details for the new Jetta GLI have not been revealed here but it should be expected to start at a little above the present USD 29,310 to keep the car in the market sweet spot.
