Sensex opens over 100 points higher; Nifty nears 10,900

The BSE Sensex opened in the green on Tuesday, with the 30-share Sensex opening more than 100 points higher.

Equity benchmarks have begun the day on a strong note, with the Sensex conquering 36,000-mark in the opening tick, while the Nifty is just short of 10,900.

Shares of Reliance Industries, ONGC, Adani Ports, Bajaj Auto were trading up by more than 1% each. In the Nifty, Shares of HCL Tech, Hindalco and ONGC gained by more than 1% each. 

The domestic stock markets continued the strong momentum gained yesterday, tracking positive global cues and ahead of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Q1 earnings later in the day.

Last month, its peers Tata Consultancy Services also announced a mega Rs 16,000 crore share buyback while Infosys completed its Rs 13,000-crore share buyback last year.
