Indices slip from a record high, Sensex at 37746 and Nifty at 11,402

BSE Sensex was trading at 37,690.47, down 1.42 points and NSE Nifty was trading at 11,391.65, up 4.55 points.
Stock market indices on Tuesday touched fresh record levels for the second straight day with healthy buying in auto and metal stocks.
In early trade, Sensex surged 184.98 points to an all-time high of 37876.87 and the Nifty 50 rose 41.85 points to a new high of 11,428.95.
But domestic stock markets erased gains within a few minutes after opening at record highs with Sensex and Nifty falling well below their respective all-time highs.
At 10 am BSE Sensex was trading at 37746 and NSE Nifty was trading at 11,402.
