Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) Chairman and Managing Director, Mukesh Dhirubhai Ambani, has been re-appointed to the office for another five years. Mukesh Ambani's next tenure will commence from April 19, 2019.

The move came at RIL's 41st annual general meeting (AGM) held recently.

According to reports, more than 98.50 per cent of shareholders voted in favour of the resolution to re-appoint Ambani.

Mukesh Ambani, who is also the richest Indian, kept his annual compensation unchanged. Ambani earns close to Rs 15 crore in a year, a sum that has reportedly been kept unchanged by him for almost a decade and includes his salary, allowances, perquisites, retiral benefits, and commission payable.
