Government to celebrate 'GST day' tomorrow

The government will mark the first anniversary of GST rollout in the country on Sunday by organising an event to celebrate the same. 

The event will be organised at the Ambedkar Bhawan and will be attended by the Finance Minister Piyush Goyal in collaboration with the Industry chambers, traders and tax officials.

Union Minister Arun Jaitley may also show his presence in the event through a video conferencing. 

The biggest tax reform in India was implemented last year on the midnight of June 30 in the central hall of Parliament and aimed at transforming India into 'one nation one tax'.

The bill was introduced to subsume over dozens of indirect taxes.
