Syria: 2 dead as protesters clash with police, storm governor's office in Sweida
The economic hardships of the war-torn nation have stoked resentment in the southern metropolis. A big image of President Bashar Assad was pulled down from the exterior of a government building by protesters after they invaded the structure. In the southern Syrian city of Sweida, one protester and one policeman were murdered on Sunday when security forces put down a large-scale demonstration.
