Assam student hospitalised after suicide attempt as part of Blue Whale challenge

An Assam college student attempted suicide by jumping off from the top floor of a building early Friday. 

The second year college student hails from Assam and is suspected to have committed the crime as part of the Blue Whale challenge


He jumped off from a building in Silchar in Assam but was rescued soon after and admitted to a hospital. 

His current status has not been established but, according to media reports, he is being treated as of now. 

The Blue Whale challenge has already led to the deaths of 250 teens around the world.

The game is reportedly a suicide game which has in all 50 stages, with the final task leading up to the death of the player. 

The Supreme Court of India will hear a plea seeking a ban on the Blue Whale challenge on Friday.
