On Thursday, former US president Donald Trump and the former US chief medical adviser Dr Anthony Fauci made headlines for some fake AI-generated images of them kissing and hugging. The images were posted by the team of presidential contender Ron deSantis
While researching for the images put out by team DeSantis, we came across a bunch of AI-generated pictures of the former president and his anathema Fauci.
Though the two men never shied away from criticising each other in real life, the internet apparently "ships" them as a couple.
A video released by the Florida governor's rapid response team known as 'DeSantis War Room' featured six images of Fauci and Trump. In three of them, the two men can be seen hugging or kissing.
While the video did not carry an AI-related disclaimer, these images are clearly fake.
Talking to Reuters, Matthew Stamm, a professor of electrical and computer engineering at Drexel University, said that as per an analysis of traces left behind by synthetic image generators, the three images of Trump and Fauci kissing and hugging are likely AI-generated.
