Michelle Obama delivered a powerful speech subtly slamming former president Donald Trump and praising Kamala Harris as a presidential candidate. Here are some important takeaways from her speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC).
Michelle Obama opened her address by stating, that the "magical" feeling of "hope" is spreading across the country, "America, hope is making a comeback."
Michelle Obama praised Kamala Harris and her mother's legacy. "Kamala Harris is more than ready for this moment. She is one of the most qualified people ever to seek the office of the presidency."
“For years, Donald Trump did everything in his power to try to make people fear us. See, his limited, narrow view of the world made him feel threatened by the existence of two hard-working and highly educated, successful people who happen to be Black,” Michelle Obama said criticising Trump's post about Barack and Michelle Obama.
In her speech, Michelle Obama added further as a reference to Trump's comment, "Who's gonna tell him that the job he's currently seeking might just be one of those black jobs?"
"No one has a monopoly on what it means to be an American, no one," Michelle Obama stated referring to Trump's comment on Harris and Democrats.
