German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said Vladimir Putin was not currently open to negotiations to end Ukraine war.
Scholz said that nothing suggests at the moment that Putin is ready to negotiate a just peace.
Referring to US claims China was considering such a move, Scholz urged Beijing not to arm Russia for the Ukraine war.
Scholz stated his "message to Beijing is clear". He asked China to use influence in Moscow to push for Russian troops' withdrawal.
Scholz said Germany and its allies were in talks with Kyiv over future security guarantees.
Scholz vowed to ramp up Germany's armaments manufacturing industry.
NATO warned that Ukraine was currently using up more ammunition than its allies were producing.
