Moscow has deployed the world's largest bomber, Tu-160, in the Ukraine war. Russian forces used the bomber to fire Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles on Ukraine last Monday.
Developed in the 1980s, the Tu-160 bomber is a supersonic, variable-sweep wing, strategic bomber designed by Russia's Tupolev Design Bureau.
It can destroy targets thousands of kilometres away from its base and can carry both nuclear warheads and cruise missiles.
It has a maximum payload capacity of up to 40,000 kg and can carry its weapons in its internal bomb bay or on external pylons.
India is also interested in purchasing at least six Tu-160 bombers, as per a statement by retired Air Chief Marshal Anoop Raha.
India can deploy them to decimate targets both in China and Pakistan in the event of a two-front battle.
