China, Vietnam, Thailand see rise in temperatures 

Countries across Asia, including China, Vietnam and Thailand, have been hit by a fresh heatwave, which has led to sharp rise in temperatures. 

Seasonal highs registered in China, Southeast Asia 

A report by Euronews said that seasonal highs have been registered in China, Southeast Asia and elsewhere, and experts have warned about more extreme heat ahead. 

China records hottest May in over 100 years 

On May 29, China recorded its hottest May in over a century. And a day later, a weather station in Shenzhen also set a May record of 40.2 degree Celsius. 

Vietnam’s bid to save energy 

Rising temperatures in Vietnam have caused authorities to turn off street lights while large manufacturers have been switching operations to off-peak hours, to keep the country’s power system running. On Thursday, temperature was recorded at its peak of 44 degree Celcius. 

India: Heatwave conditions likely to prevail in some states 

 The India Meteorogical Department (IMD) said that Indian states — Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, UP and Sikkim are likely to experience heatwave conditions till June 7.
