Russia has a total inventory of 5,977 nuclear warheads, out of which, 1,588 are deployed warheads.
The USA has the second-highest number of nuclear weapons with an inventory of 5,428 warheads.
As per the report, China has 350 nuclear warheads and all of them are stored warheads, as per estimates. This number can be much higher as China is criticised for its lack of nuclear transparency.
France has a total inventory of 290 nuclear warheads and in early 2021, it officially launched a programme to develop a 3rd generation nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (SSBN).
The UK has 225 nuclear warheads in its inventory. The country announced in 2021 that it will increase the ceiling on its total warhead stockpile.
Pakistan has more nuclear warheads than India. Its total inventory includes 165 warheads and the country appears to be expanding its nuclear arsenal further, as per the report.
India is also steadily increasing its nuclear warheads. Currently, its total inventory has 160 nuclear warheads.
