South Sudan also scored 13/100 and is one of the three countries that ranked the lowest in the African continent.
Yemen scored 16 out of 100 on the corruption scale, and the Index termed it as one of the latest decliners in the list.
The Central American nation of Nicaragua scored 17/100 and is one of the most corrupt countries in the Americas.
North Korea also scored 17 out of 100 and is the most corrupt country in the Asia Pacific region.
Haiti also scored 17 out of 100 and is one of the three countries with the worst corruption in the Americas, along with Nicaragua and Venezuela.
The central African country of Equatorial Guinea also scored only 17 out of 100 and is one of the most corrupt countries in the world.
In Central Asia, Turkmenistan is the most corrupt nation with a meagre score of 18/100 on the corruption index.
