World's Most Poisonous Plants

Deadly Nightshade

Aptly named Deadly Nightshade, this toxic plant belongs to the same family as tomatoes, potatoes and aubergines. Just 10 berries from this plant can kill an adult human being.

Tobacco

One of the world’s most famous, tobacco is a highly toxic plant. It is designated as a cardiac poison and if eaten directly, may even result in death.

Manchineel

This tree is also called the 'little apple of death' as every part of the tree is highly toxic. The fruit of this tree is the most dangerous, as just one bite can lead to potential death. Even standing under this tree during rains is lethal as dripping water from the leaves can make the skin burn.

Suicide Tree

Colloquially called the 'Suicide tree', it bears a highly poisonous fruit that can make the heart stop.

Poison Hemlock

The plant is widely regarded as one of the world’s most poisonous plants and was used extensively in Ancient Greece for the purpose of executing prisoners who were condemned to death.

White Snakeroot

This plant, or at least its effects, was commonly known as 'milk sickness' in the 19th century, as it was frequently ingested by mistake. It is so deadly that even eating meat from an animal that has died from its effects could lead to death.

Castor Bean Plant

This species is widely considered the deadliest plant in the world due to the presence of ricin within its beans. Consumption of these beans is considered life-threatening unless treated, as ricin is highly-toxic to both animals and humans. 
