Kenya Doomsday cult (2023)

Jonestown (1978)

More than 900 men, women and children died in Guyana after American preacher Jim Jones ordered followers to drink a cyanide-laced grape drink

Heaven's Gate (1997)

Bodies of 39 men and women lying on bunks wearing identical black clothing and black and white shoe were found in Santa Fe. Marshall Applewhite, the leader of Heaven’s Gate cult was deemed the prime suspect. 

Waco (1993)

Branch Davidians religious group led by David Koresh engaged in a 51-day standoff with federal agents. More than 70 died after huge fire erupted in the ranch compound

Uganda Doomsday sect (2000)

700 people died in the Kanungu cult massacres. Joseph Kibweteere had convinced followers to confess their sins and sell their possessions in preparation for the end of the world
