A tomato plant can grow quite large and needs a spacious pot to support its extensive root system. A 5-litre container with drainage holes at the bottom would be an excellent option.
Choose more space-efficient, smaller kinds, such as cherry tomatoes, which work better in pots.
Fill the pot with a good-quality potting mix that provides nutrients and drains well.
Place your pots where they will get at least 6 to 8 hours of sunlight per day.
Maintain an even but slightly damp texture in the soil. Once the soil appears dry, water your tomatoes.
