Excessive egg consumption poses health hazards, despite their prevalence in global diets. Often perceived as a convenient protein source, indulging in too many eggs carries consequences:

Elevated Cholesterol Levels

Egg yolks, containing about 190 milligrams of cholesterol, surpass the recommended daily limit of 300 milligrams, contributing to increased blood cholesterol.

Cardiovascular Risks

A 2019 study linked daily cholesterol intake exceeding 300 milligrams to a 17% higher risk of cardiovascular disease  and an 18% higher risk of mortality.

   Weight Gain

Eggs contain compounds that are harmful when eaten in excess, like cholesterol and saturated fat which may contribute to weight gain

   Diabetes Risk

A 2009 study in Diabetes Care found that consuming over seven eggs weekly heightened the risk of developing type 2 diabetes compared to a lower egg intake.

Digestive Discomfort

Excessive egg consumption may lead to digestive issues, causing abdominal pain, especially for individuals with undiscovered egg allergies or sensitivities.
