Earlier it was thought that Golden Retrievers trace their origins to Russian circus dogs. However, records of Lord Tweedmouth of Inverness, Scotland revealed that they could be the result of cross-breeding of a yellow retriever and a Tweed Water Spaniel in 1864.
The breed loves to eat and are known for eating everything from paper, to their owners' food.
July and August are the busiest months. However, the rainy season which generally falls from October to April, means fewer tourists. However, December and January, especially New Year bring substantial crowds.
Golden Retrievers are natural athletes that need a lot of exercise.
