Use containers or hanging baskets with holes at the bottom for drainage. Make sure they are at least 12 inches deep.
Put a mixture of compost and potting soil in your containers. This enables the strawberries to absorb the necessary nutrients.
Go for everbearing or day-neutral strawberries, which can produce fruit all season and grow well in pots.
Place your pots where they can get at least 6-8 hours of sunlight daily.
Keep the soil damp but not soaked. Water your strawberries when the top inch of soil feels dry, especially on hot days.
Fertilise the plants after you harvest the berries. Be careful not to over-fertilise, as this can result in excessive leaf growth instead of fruit production.
