Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented her seventh Union Budget in Parliament today. Here's a summary of items that will become cheaper and those that will cost more:
- Three cancer medicines exempted from customs duty.
- 15 per cent duty cut on mobile phone parts.
- TDS rate for e-commerce operators reduced.
- Custom duty on gold and silver reduced to 6 per cent, platinum to 6.4 per cent.
- No custom duty on 25 critical minerals.
- Customs duty on ammonium nitrate increased to 10 per cent.
- Customs duty on non-biodegradable plastics increased by 25 per cent.
- Basic customs duty on specified telecom equipment increased from 10 to 15 per cent.
- TCS of 1 per cent to be levied on notified goods valued over ₹10 lakh.
