1. Wolves

The wolf pair mates for life in order to establish their position as pack leaders. They produce a new litter every year to ensure the stability of the rest of the pack, as per a BBC Earth report. 

2. Beavers

Eurasian beavers pair up and mate for life to increase their chances of survival. 

3. Gibbons

According to Thomas Geissman and Mathias Orgeldinger’s study, the gibbon pairs perform ‘duet’ songs, which are a series of their individual mating calls, combined into a song that becomes essential to their bond. 

4. California mice 

A study on Behavioural Ecology and Sociobiology by David J. Gubernick and J. Cully Nordby discovered that the majority of mice remained loyal to their partner when they were placed with another mouse. 

5. Shingleback lizards 

These slow-moving lizards return to their same partners every year in the mating season. 

6. Diplozoon paradoxum 

As per a study by Wey-Lim Wong and Stanislav Gorb, each individual Diplozoon paradoxum, a flatworm, conjoins with another so that it can reach adulthood. 

7. Black Vultures 

Once a male vulture finds a partner, a courtship pattern transpires that at times concludes with a mid-air mating dance.
