An inspiration for many horror movies, Ed Gein or The Original had an abusive childhood with his alcoholic father and psychotic mother. He turned a part of his home into a shrine dedicating it to his mother. Police officials discovered numerous exhumed corpses and made trophies from bones and skin.
8. Lady Bluebeard
Belle Sorenson Guness killed several of her boyfriends, husbands and even her own children for the insurance money. She became an active serial killer between 1884 and 1908. Police found her body along with 11 other bodies at her farmhouse. She was then pronounced dead but many believe she framed her death and escaped.
7. Green River Killer
Gary Ridgway would through his victims in the Green River after killing them. He claimed to have murdered at least 70 women during the 1980s and 1990s but was convicted of 49 only with life imprisonment.
6. The Night Stalker
The Night Stalker or Richard Ramirez was a notorious serial killer who used to break into people's houses and kill them murdering them with a variety of weapons including a tire iron.
5. Dr Death
Harold Shipman had one of the highest numbers of victims recorded. The evil doctor killed almost 250 patients by injecting lethal doses of medicine.
4. Monster of The Andes
Also known as Pedro Alonso Lopez, he claimed to have raped and murdered over 300 women during his killing spree in Southern America. Over 50% of his victims were below the age of 12. He was released from prison on the basis of his good behaviour.
3. Ted Bundy
Most of us have heard about Ted Bundy. His victims were females, and he would kidnap them, rape them and then dismember them. He even kept their heads as souvenirs.
2. Jack The Ripper
Jack the Ripper in London was famous for his serial killings of prostitutes during the year 1888. He would cut their throats and mutilate their abdominals removing their internal organs. His identity was never revealed.
1. The Brooklyn Vampire
Albert Fish also known as the Brooklyn Vampire was a serial killer in the early 1900s. He was prosecuted on charges of murder, rape and cannibalism. As per the World Atlas, he ate three children and claimed that he murdered a hundred or more.
