Zimbabwe

The country of 15 million people allows teenagers above 16 to purchase and consume alcohol, provided they have written consent from their parents or guardians stating that they know their child is consuming alcohol.

Cuba

The country allows its citizens to freely purchase and consume alcohol once they turn 16. Selling alcohol to children below 16 is a punishable offence in the country; however, it is not enforced strictly.

British Virgin Islands

The legal alcohol purchase age here is 16. Home to just over 30,000 people, the island restricts selling alcohol to anyone below 16 years old. However, the rules are hardly enforced.

Luxembourg

The European country of more than 600,000 people has set its legal drinking age at 16, making it a premium location for booze-loving teens. The Hunnegdrpp, which is made of honey, and the Nssdrp from Viandn, which is made of nuts, are the most popular alcoholic beverages that the country offers.

Belgium

Underage consumption of alcohol is prohibited in Belgium until the age of 16. Spirits have a slightly higher age requirement of 18; however, some fall through the cracks and can still be purchased by 16-year-olds, such as port, sherry and martinis.

Burkina Faso

Burkinabes as young as 13 can legally purchase alcohol in bars and eateries. Additionally, Burkina Faso does not control the number of outlets or their hours of operation. The nation's laws governing the marketing of alcohol are deficient by WHO criteria.
