Denmark occupies first place, becoming the most competitive country in the world, thanks to its strong performance in business and infrastructure efficiency in the index.
Making its way to the second position at the top, Ireland’s strong performance across all competitive factors helped it jump to the spot from the 11th rung last year.
This beautiful European country stands third for its excellent performance across all competitive factors. The country remains first in government efficiency and infrastructure and ranks seventh in business efficiency.
Singapore stands fourth in the list and has in fact slid down by one position.
In fifth position is the Netherlands, which moved up one place (from sixth). It stands second this year in business efficiency and 11th in overall economic performance.
Next on the list is Taiwan. It stands sixth in business efficiency and 20th in the government efficiency category.
Hong Kong SAR, a city and a special administrative region in China, is on the seventh position. It ranks second on the list of government efficiency.
